Physiotherapy

Cooloola Coast Rehab & Fitness Physiotherapists use hands-on treatment and exercise therapy to manage a wide variety of injuries and complex pains. Exercise physiology

Exercise Physiology involves the study of the body’s responses to physical activity, particularly relating to injury and chronic disease. Helping our patients rehabilitate from illness or injury and relieve pain. Our exercise physiologists are accredited, university-qualified allied health professionals Trusted by our local GPs, our exercise physiologists work closely with our physiotherapists to provide a multi-disciplinary approach. This ensures you achieve the best possible outcome.
Exercise physiology assists with the treatment and management of a range of conditions.
Helping to prevent injuries and risk of falls, improve sporting performance and facilitate appropriate exercise during pregnancy, we can tailor a safe strengthening and conditioning program just for you.

At your initial consultation your exercise physiologist will complete a thorough assessment of your condition and exercise tolerance.

Our discovery chat
We discuss any exercise programs you’ve previously undertaken, your lifestyle, and what your future goals are.
We take a range of physical measurements, including blood pressure, oxygen uptake

Bringing together the findings from our discovery chat with the results from your tests, we develop and agree on the right exercise plan for you.
As part of your program, we may also refer you to meet with one of our physiotherapists, participate in clinical Pilates, attend one of our small group exercise classes or join us for a hydrotherapy session.

NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) helps people living with a disability get the personalized support they need. Our physiotherapy and exercise physiology services focus on building your mobility and strength, managing pain, preventing injuries and helping you to function in your environment

We offer in-clinic, telehealth and mobile appointments for our NDIS patients. All we need is a copy of your goals, your NDIS participant number and the details of how your plan is managed. We can then set you up in our system ready for your first appointment.

Clinical Pilates

Clinical Pilates is a low impact form of exercise that’s designed to strengthen, stretch and tone, providing you with improved mobility, flexibility and fitness. Incorporating slow and deliberate movements, clinical Pilates is gentle on your joints and can be easily modified to suit people of all ages and abilities.
Clinical Pilates is perfect for people who need to increase their core strength and are unable to sustain any high impact on their joints. Particularly beneficial for relieving back pain, Posture, Flexibility, Control Balance, Core strength, Pelvic floor strength Clinical Pilates is highly effective in strengthening inactive or weakened muscles in your back and neck. Incorporating specific stretches and building your core abdominal muscles.
As we get older and wiser (and yes, perhaps a little greyer), our balance begins to decline. Ideal for maintaining and improving your balance, thus minimising the risk of falls, clinical Pilates targets and strengthens the muscles that hold us upright. Yes!

If you’d like fully personalized support, are pregnant or haven’t tried clinical Pilates before, we recommend you begin with a one-to-one session.


Small group classes

After you’ve had your initial one on one assessment with our professional team, you can opt to join our small group clinical Pilates classes. Suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels, our classes are both floor and reformer based, and incorporate the use of rings, resistance bands and balls.
With numbers strictly limited, bookings are essential. To find a class time that suits you, give us a call.

Relaxation/ Remedial massage

Remedial massage focuses on identifying the underlying cause of musculoskeletal dysfunction. Remedial massage involves the use of a variety of therapeutic techniques designed to locate and repair damaged areas in your body, such as muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Sports massage is a type of massage focusing on loosening muscle fibers caused by sport-related tension and helps aid an athlete’s performance. A sports massage is ideal for people who have sport-related injuries or want to improve their recovery post sporting events.
Lymphatic Massage is commonly referred to as Lymphatic Drainage. Lymphatic drainage is a gentle, rhythmical massage treatment performed by a specially trained lymphatic massage therapist to stimulate the circulation of lymph fluid around the body. This helps to rapidly speed up the removal of wastes and toxins from a sluggish lymphatic system.
